Relationship DNA Testing

Relationship DNA Testing

Grandparent DNA Testing

When a parent isn’t available, grandparents can help provide the answers.

Our testing compares shared DNA between grandparents and a child to determine the likelihood of a biological relationship—private, respectful, and easy to complete.

Includes:

  • One or both grandparents and the child.
  • Accurate probability results.
  • Legal or peace-of-mind testing options

Aunt & Uncle DNA Testing (Avuncular Testing)

Determine whether an aunt or uncle shares a biological relationship with a child through accurate, confidential DNA testing.

While a direct parent–child test is usually the most definitive way to confirm a relationship, aunt and uncle testing can provide helpful answers when a parent is unavailable or unable to participate.

Our testing compares shared DNA markers to calculate the likelihood of a biological connection between family members.

Test includes:

  • One alleged aunt or uncle and the child.
  • Clear probability results showing whether a biological relationship is likely or unlikely
  • Legal (chain-of-custody) or informational/peace-of-mind options

Sibling DNA Testing

Find out whether two individuals share a biological sibling relationship with accurate, confidential DNA testing.

While direct parent–child testing is typically the most definitive way to confirm family relationships, sibling testing can provide helpful answers when a parent is unavailable or unable to participate.

Our lab partners compare shared DNA markers between both individuals to estimate the likelihood that they are biologically related as siblings.

What to expect:

  • Testing for two potential siblings
  • Clear probability results showing whether a sibling relationship is likely or unlikely
  • Legal (chain-of-custody) or informational/peace-of-mind options.
  • Because this is an indirect relationship test, results are expressed as likelihood rather than a simple yes or no. In some cases, results may not be fully conclusive.

3 Step Process

Sample Collected

For most tests, a swab is taken from all participants. Prenatal tests require blood from mother. LegalDNA can assist you in finding a medical professional to come to your home for this collection

Advanced Lab Analysis

Collected specimens are shipped to our accredited lab for testing and comparison
